This flat border trim liner is typically used to finish a stainless steel tile or aluminum tile installation that ends in the middle of a wall. This flat border edge rail tile frames the tile backsplash, whether for practical or aesthetic purposes, and gives it a finished look.

Each piece is 12 inches long and 1 inch wide (10 mm thick) and has a snow matte stainless steel finish to match most of our stainless steel tile and some of our aluminum tile.

This border liner can be used on a variety of indoor and covered outdoor applications, including bath and kitchen backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, tub surrounds and other wall decor applications.

This flat stainless steel mosaic trim is comprised of a real stainless steel "cap" attached to a ceramic backing. This provides two obvious advantages, the first being cost. Solid metal mosaic pieces would significantly increase the cost of the tile to an unattainable amount. Secondly, it would be very hard to cut a solid 8mm thick piece of stainless steel.

To find out how many border edge tiles you would need to create a finished edge, add up all the side lengths you would like to border tile (in inches), divide the number by 12 (since each piece is 12" in length) and round it up to the next whole number to get the total number of border edge tiles your project would require. We also recommend ordering 10% more tile than calculated to account for errors, miscuts and overages.

For example, if you would like to border tile a rectangular area of 40" x 24", the total side lengths would be 40"+24"+40"+24"=128".

We suggest you then add 10% for the overages. You would then get 140.8".

Divide 140.8" by 12 = 11.73'.

Round that number up and you get to 12 border edge tiles which would be needed to border tile a rectangular area of 40" x 24".
