The fireplace is the focal point of any room it is located in. It is usually the first place that catches the attention of anyone that enters the room. If your fireplace is out of style it can quickly degrade any room décor regardless of the type or theme. The use of metal surrounds is a great way to add a touch of style and elegance to any room. There are several ways that the use of metal wall tiles and metal fireplace surrounds will help you to upgrade the fireplace to become the focal point it was designed to be. We will take a short look at some of the most common ways that metal tile sand Fireplace surrounds can be used.

            Metal Accents.

Metal wall tiles can add a statement to any room in your home. At times this statement could be overwhelming depending on the décor of the room. Incorporating metal accent tiles will add character without over powering the entire room. A great consideration would be to use 2 or 3 inch accent tiles among the larger tiles around the fireplace surround. A row of accent tiles under the mantel is always a good option to consider as well.

            Decorative Metal Surround.

If you live in a Victorian style home or any other type of older home the look of pressed tin is really appealing. Decorative metals on the fireplace surround can be installed with the same patterns as pressed tin. Use a repeating pattern or a pattern that links together every second or third tile. The entire surround can be covered in this pattern. This includes the legs and the top of the surround. Add to the unique look by placing some pain pattern matching tile to the hearth of the fireplace.

            Industrial Metal Surround.

If you have a fireplace surround that extends to the ceiling or if your décor is mid-century or even modern in design then the industrial look may be for you. An industrial metal surround design includes large format metal tiles in a rust colored or brushed finish. Rivets can be installed around each tile to give it a special industrial style.  To enhance this style tile can be placed randomly instead of in clean sharp lines to create a patchwork industrial look. A copper surround really looks great when used in this manner.

           Contemporary Metal Surround.

No matter if you have a large fireplace or a small one a contemporary metal surround can brighten any modern living area. Larger tile in a chrome or brushed finish is a great way to start your contemporary. If you use a brush pattern you will make sure the brush runs in the same direction through the entire surround. These tiles also look great when used without any grout joints. Without using grout and by keeping the seams close together you will achieve the look of seamless metal.

These are just a few suggestions if you are looking to use metal surrounds around your fireplace. Check out our stainless steel, aluminum and copper tile selection to see the many options available to you to create the perfect metal fireplace surround.
